My Teaching Philosophy

For me, teaching is not jut a profession. It is a passion, a commitment, and a way of life. This is what I always remind myself of and I roughly follow.

Teaching is a profession. I believe that a great teacher can start anywhere with anything. It is a very tough job and being a great teacher doesn’t happen with just a click of a finger. It’s not like magic! It requires a lot of patience. So, as a responsible teacher you must not only continue to learn but to widen your horizon and inflame your intellect because teaching is a continuous process that demands constant learning.  As the saying goes, you cannot give what you do not have.

They say teaching is a passion that one can never retire from. A teacher must have love of learning and is willing to share this passion with the students because I believe that all children deserve respect and the chance to have the gift of learning.

Teaching is a commitment. It is the key to any form of success. Before you start your work, always remind yourself that in your class, every student should learn. Your commitment affects your performance as a teacher. It maybe exhausting, stressful, and difficult but a committed teacher never gives up.

Teaching is a way of life. As a teacher, you are considered the second parent of your students and it’s a big responsibility. Teachers are God’s stewards. When you teach, you don’t just confine your teaching in the classroom but extend beyond formal teaching. We influence a child.  You don’t only teach them math or science but also moral values for life to make them whole. So, as teachers, one must live by values because students look up to you. As what I have written in my first post, a teacher molds a child, enriches and nurtures him. A teacher participates in the creation of something which is so valuable.
